Discovering Science
& Crafting Art
Artist Bio
Kevin E. Gibson is an artist located in East Texas who graduated in spring 2024 from the University of Texas at Tyler with a BA with a double minor in Art History and Curatorial Studies. Having first started his college career in Chemistry, it was upon his transfer to Temple College that Kevin truly began his career within the art world and graduated with his associates of art in 2019.

While he may have some outliers of work within his body, most of his works are metal casted sculptures composed of different strange Cambrian creatures. Using aspects of physics and the abstract physiology of the creatures, he creates a work that not only intrigues the viewer in composition but also craftsmanship.

Outside of his artwork, Kevin has two chihuahuas, builds Bionicle, is consistently distracted by different science articles, and loves to find himself deep in nature. After attaining his MFA from UT Tyler in the future, Kevin plans to continue his artistic career while also working in a museum setting of some capacity to help preserve history, art, and knowledge.
